7 in 10 young workers call in sick from stress

Young workers are more likely to call in sick due to stress compared to older workers, according to a new report by British financial company Friends Life [The Telegraph]. In a survey of 2,000 full-time workers, researchers found that 7 in 10 workers ages 18 to 24 called in sick because of stress, more than any other age group. Read more >

Work-related asthma affects 1.4 million adults annually

About nine percent of all asthma cases in the United States are caused or made worse by our work environments, according to a new analysis by researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They covered multi-year data from 38 states and the District of Columbia and concluded that work-related asthma affects a staggering 1.4 million adults annually.
