"How cholesterol works: Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that is produced naturally by the body. If the body produces too much cholesterol or if a person eats too many foods high in saturated fat or cholesterol, it shows up in the blood. It then begins to build up in the blood vessels inside the heart, which leads to atherosclerosis. When that happens, the flow of blood through the heart is restricted and can cause a heart attack."

Spring cleaning tip: eat what you have

Spring is the perfect time to clean up your kitchen and your diet. One tip: Eat what you have. Many people don’t realize how much food they’ve accumulated because it’s buried behind other food, plastic containers, and other kitchen clutter.
